"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode, but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years." Audrey Hepburn

Where to begin?

My mother.

Beautiful. Devoted. Graceful. Protective. Wise. Strong.

I want to celebrate this woman. Everything she has done for me. The Spirit led encouragement she pours over me daily not only reveals her unconditional love, but her relentless pursuit of faith in the Lord. I praise God for her wisdom & this sweet season of life we get to spend together.

But just so we all know, she's 1000x more stylist than I am...So, naturally, I had to document.

I love you forever.

Local + Global

It's never too late to be a wise consumer:

I want to spotlight this gorgeous Mamuye tote & the company and heart behind the product. FashionABLE's focus of work is with women who have been exploited due to the effects of poverty. Their vision is to make a radical fashion statement as a responsible and world changing consumer. The FashionABLE mission is "to create sustainable business so that the people are not dependent on charity, but are a vital part of a developing economy" (https://livefashionable.com/faq/).

When a woman is empowered with work, she creates change around her. FashionABLE's role is working with women, locally and globally, who have overcome incredible challenges ranging from prostitution to addiction to a lack of opportunity. When buying a FashionAble product, you are able to provide the women who hand make the products a new life for not only themselves, but their families & communities.

We are all ABLE to find purpose in the passions God has placed in our hearts. Feel empowered knowing that YOU are able & were created to do amazing things through the strength of Christ alone, my friend. God creates the most beautiful masterpieces out of dust.
Ephesians 3:20, "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

back to square one.

Hello Fall. I'm definitely happy to see you.

A strong 70s aesthetic with a hint of fringe is gracing wardrobes this season. And let me tell you, i'm all about it. What else is back in a big way? Plaid and checkered prints. Mix unique textures & different weights of garments to create a comfy outfit. Remember, you don't have to compromise style for comfort. Just find fabrications that work best for you (and will keep you warm in the cooler months approaching).

home of the blues.

As the new school year rapidly approaches, 'tis the season for layers!
Let's talk about how to transition your wardrobe into fall. When wanting to wear a summer frock, pair it with a cozy sweater or button-up to maximize your wardrobe as best as you can. It's seriously as simple as that (and you'll be crazy comfortable all day...win, win). Layering your pieces adds interest & depth to an outfit. Don't be afraid to mix etherial fabrics with structured outerwear.

My tip for you: lay out all of your fall sweaters & summer frocks on the floor. Start mixing and matching & see what catches your eye the most. Remember, play with texture & have a blast with your look!

Now, back to praying for chillier weather ;)

Happy layering!

love you a brunch.

Fresh-roasted coffee, high quality food, boutique wines and craft cocktails make Cafe Caturra a favorite hangout on
The Corner.

If we're being honest, I am nowhere near a coffee connoisseur...I don't even drink it daily...BUT this coffee was SO smooth & delish!
No cream...No sugar...WHAT?! That's when you know it's good.

Mocha art on point. Teach me your ways.

Thomas enjoyed shrimp & grits. Of course, my fork snuck into the frame for a little nibble. I was definitely not disappointed. The flavors blended together seamlessly in this southern comfort classic.
I decided on the huevos racheros...the salsa had a little kick to it, but the guacamole cooled down the spice.
OH MY YUM.
Families that share food together, stay together.
Hey-o, Poppio.
How could we not try something that's listed as a "warm cookie?"
Topped with vanilla ice cream, it was the perfect fix for my eager sweet tooth.
Mini creme brulee.

It was horrible...obviously.
The ambiance of this place is so delightful. It's warm & intimate seating area is perfect for brunch with your family, drinks with friends, or even a sweet date night.
Stairway to heaven (the upstairs bar).

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Cafe Caturra, you get an "A" in my (very extensive) book. Not only was the food fresh & flavorful, but the ambiance completely won me over. I'm always a sucker for quaint settings & string lights. Oh also, our waitress was the SWEETEST person. Super friendly and welcoming staff.

If you live in or ever find yourself passing through Charlottesville, definitely give it a try (let me know, and I'll join you)!
